You are reading the weblog of William Patton.  I am a Senior Systems Administrator/Engineer/Architect working in the Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA area for nearly a decade.

I work primarily on VMware virtualized Microsoft servers and systems such as Windows, Active Directory, Sharepoint, Exchange, Live Communications Server, and many more servers and applications.  I also support a growing number of Redhat and Suse virtual guests.

I have been working with VMWare products such as ESX 4, 3x and 2.5x, VirtualCenter 2x and 1x, vCenter Server, GSX, Server, Workstation and Player for more than 8 years.  VMware solutions such as Site Recovery Manager, and Lab Manager.

Recently, I have begun working on z/VM and z-Linux systems on IBM z-Systems Mainframes.

I have also worked with many Fiber Storage Arrays from HP MSA and EVA arrays to EMC Clariion and DMX-4.  Fiber Networking from Qlogic and Brocade.
